I took my daughter here for horseback riding on her birthday. From booking to leaving we had a wonderful experience. Everyone was incredibly helpful, the animals were well kept, and the guide on our trail was full of interesting facts and helpful tips. I would absolutely recommend this place, and I can't wait to schedule further excursions.
Friendly and informative front desk team and staff. Rooms clean, comfortable, and quiet.
The Ambivalent:
Spacious grounds with many interesting and beautiful plants.
* Bed was incredibly comfortable
Very nice, relaxing campus. Great quiet getaway. Food was solid, but not great. Also, the decor is quite dated, even for a rustic look.
* LB1 cabin was sufficiently isolated as to feel private.
* I wish we'd had a full kitchenette because of the schedule conflict. That appears to be luck of the draw on which cabin you end up in, and ours only had the microwave, fridge, and sink. That's as-advertised, though.
* Cabin was clean and neat
The Bad:
* I alerted the resort ahead of time that I had a food allergy, and I was told the dining area would be notified and they would work with us. Instead, the major part of our picnic lunch (part of the package) was food I couldn't eat. My wife tells me the food was fine, which is good I suppose.
The Good:
* Meals at the resort are on a fairly tight schedule - a two-hour band most of the time. We're both night shift and didn't realize this going in, so our free breakfasts didn't end up being of any use to us. Plus there aren't any meals available after 9-ish. Can't blame them for this, just wish I'd thought to check ahead of time.
If u are ever in North Georgia looking for somewhere to eat for Thanksgiving dinner I highly recommend @Forest hills resort Wow! It was awesome! Two thumbs up
Basic details first: my wife and I rented one of the Countryside Romance cabins with the Gold+Wine+Waterfalls package for a few days to celebrate our anniversary.
* A candlelight dinner was part of the package, and we planned our stay around it to some extent. It ended up being the biggest flop of the whole stay. It couldn't be done on Sunday - we were told this ahead of time and that's fine, we moved it to Monday. Sunday we asked the office where to show up for the meal, and were told to go to the couples dining area. We showed up there the next night to find it shut down completely, and were placed in the entirely empty 'family dining area' instead. When we asked whether this was still our candlelight dinner, they brought a candle and put it in the booth we were sitting in and offered to turn off the lights in our section. We ordered champagne off the menu - there was none. Two parts of the meal I couldn't eat as they included my allergen. We were offered dessert and they didn't know what was available, which ended up only being a chocolate cake (which I can't eat). The dinner being part of the package ended up only being a partial credit towards the cost of our meal, as well. It was... let's say not romantic. Disappointing to say the least.
* Hot tub was clean and worked great
* Basically, everything to do with the actual cabin was fine.
Quick summary: The accommodations were comfortable and we enjoyed our stay, but the package disappointed. If we stayed again, we would not pay the extra for it.
