Well, I just visited the campus and was nice, still in expansion and looks like a young institutions with potentialities.

The campus is beautiful. I do not know about the education because I have only visited for the graduation of a family member, but they enjoy the activities in downtown Dahlonega, the local area.

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. This is a TERRIBLE SCHOOL. The financial aid office is a complete joke, and it is made pretty clear they don't care about you. They don't care if you can pay for school, or if your aid is DELAYED the week before school starts!! They WONT return your phone calls. If you want anything done, you have to go there yourself and demand to have things fixed. The administration as a whole is the most incompetent group of people I've ever seen in my life. Registrar, fin aid, all of it is terrible. Be warned and check your banner account very frequently.

Socially: If you are looking for cookie-cutter sorority life and if you have a tight group of friends it's fine. However, if you want any sort of activity don't come here. I mean, it is in Northern Georgia and that should be self-explanatory.

UNG takes any opportunity to take your money. They even charge a 2% "convenience fee" to pay for your education.

The teacher's here are usually amazing, particularly in the History department. The campus and town are mind-numbingly dull, offering little outside of outdoor activity (that does not mean SGA should get involved because they waste our money). The administration--particularly the business office is utterly deplorable. I have never experienced more incompetence and rudeness than when I have to deal with these departments. One woman in Student Health confused a Brown Recluse bite with an ant bite. The campus is the most aesthetically pleasing I have seen, both within the buildings and the over-all landscape.

Academically: I can only vouch for the History department, which is amazing.

Over-all UNG is fine, but it isn't great. You might be happy here.

Administration: Financial Aide, Disability Services, and the Registrar are the only administrative offices with any idea what is going on. They should completely dismantle career services. Don't go to Student Health for more than a skimmed knee, and the business office is down right aggressive.

Great secluded campus near the mountains. Nice little town surrounding the area, everything is within walking distance or biking. My son just finished Frog Week. so more to come.
